While the bar may appear inviting from the outside , what I discovered behind its threshold was shocking and unacceptable on multiple levels .
The State of the Venue : Filthy and Abandoned
From the moment I walked in , it was immediately obvious that hygiene was not a priority at this bar . The ground was covered in grime , and a foul smell of stale beer and filthy restrooms suffused the entire venue . With a smell of a mixture of ammonia , a rotting odor and illness . The serving zone , which should be the focal point of any pub, was cluttered with dirty glasses and litter that looked like it had accumulated over weeks. The lavatory was in even worse condition — backed up, with a cracked flush mechanism and walls stained in what I can only assume was human excrement .
